How to Make Halloween Magic Bars with Oreos

The process is actually super simple! You don’t need any special skills to whip up this easy recipe.

Ingredients You’ll Need:

  • French Vanilla Cake Mix
  • Whole Milk
  • Vegetable Oil
  • Eggs
  • Halloween Sprinkles
  • Halloween Oreo Cookies

How to Make It:

Prepare a pan. Line a 13 x 9-inch baking pan with parchment paper.

Make the cake batter. First, you’ll prepare the cake mixture. To do this, you’ll combine cake mixes with some milk, oil, and eggs in a large bowl, using an electric mixer.

This will create a thick batter. Add some of the Halloween sprinkles to the large mixing bowl for a pop of color in the batter.

Add the Oreo cookies and assemble. Take about half of your chopped Halloween Oreo cookies and sprinkle them over the bottom of your prepared pan.

Then, carefully spoon the thick batter over the Oreos. Use an offset spatula sprayed with nonstick spray to gently smooth the batter out over the entire pan.

Add the remaining sprinkles on top of the batter.

Sprinkle the remaining Oreos over the batter, pressing down gently on top of the Oreos so they are anchored in the batter.

Notes and Adaptations:

  • You can use a food processor to coarsely chop the Oreos, or use a knife and chop them by hand. You just don’t want the pieces to be too tiny.
  • This recipe is endlessly customizable! There are many different types of Halloween sprinkles. Candy eyes would be a fun addition to the top of the batter, or orange Reese’s Pieces. You can add chocolate chips or white chocolate chips if desired. Black, purple, green, and orange sprinkles make great options.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container or wrapped with plastic wrap.
  • Serve plain or with a dollop of Cool Whip or scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
  • These bars can make a simple Halloween-themed gift, too!
  • Have extra Oreos leftover? Make an Oreo milkshake without ice cream or an Oreo pound cake!
