Do dental explorers, curettes, etc. create scratches on the tooth enamel (where new caries occur) during regular dental exams?

The dental explorers, curettes can create microscopic scratches in the porcelain of an implant. Also, there would be havens for further bacterial growth. Besides, the tooth enamel is not a thick coating instead the curettes and explorers of stainless steel instruments can cause scratches on it.

Dental implant (lower right) almost 3 month ago. I experienced pain 1 month after surgery near dental implant, any suggestions?

The pain is next to my chin jaw. The doctor recommended having root canal since my tooth next to implant was giving pain sensation. After root canal same issue same place. I think it has to do with infection bacteria i also am a smoker ( 1 cigarette per day) i have done a cbct scan and the result as per doctors show no issue but i doubt. I would be grateful for your support since i do not know...

What is the cost for all on four if you have no teeth anymore?

I have researched for years to get implants but nobody really is giving me a reasonable option. I lost all teeth due to a traumatic experience in the past. Pay 40000 is well worth it to have a normal smile and get your confidence back but at first you have to be able to afford it. I am a single income household that does have a professional job but even with my insurance plan I can't afford to...

Please let me know is there any real patients with Dental Implants more than 10 years.

Can I know is there any real patients who had Dental Implants in their mouth for more than 10 years?. Am little worried and thinking I made a mistake in removing my shaking tooth which might have been there atleast for a year more if left alone. Every dental websites says it's success is higher and in every dental forum there is someone complaining something about implants. Am little worried.

I'd appreciate your guidance on dental implant

Would appreciate your advice on how I should proceed with a dental implant. So I had a failed root canal (infection and root fractures) and needed a tooth extraction and bone grafting on tooth 14. I went ahead with it late last June (2018) and ended up moving to another city for work so I couldn't complete the procedure with my original oral surgeon. I waited till January so that I could...

I'm looking for a San Jose/ Bay Area dentist who can do All-on-4 dental implants with bone graft/ no bone left/ bad bone.

Hello,I am looking for a reasonably priced San Jose/ Bay Area dentist who can do all-on-4 dental implants or similar techniques with bone craft/ no bone left/ bad bone. I also need an immediate denture that will fit before I get implants, preferably val-plast, so I can tolerate it and work. I used to use a partial val-plast denture, but recently my front crown popped out and I no longer can...

General implant question?

Hi all.. Yesterday I had drilling and three dental implants inserted, i was told it went well.. I have a concern though, because with two of the three implants the surgeon used what I can only describe as a ratchet to screw down the implant nice and tight, but with the third he jeasily just screwed it in with his fingers, wasn't a tight fit at all, is this okay no ratchet required? Thanks for...

question about shape of crown after dental implant for front tooth

I need a dental implant for tooth #9 which I have had a crown on but need an implant. Would the crown after an implant have similar contour as the natural front tooth? My prosthodontist says it's going to thicker than my current crown because of the extra hardware involved with an implant. is it possible for the crown to be as close to my natural tooth as possible in terms of contour, eg. not...

Considering complex dental work, how do I find a dentist who is qualified to handle a complex case?

Hello, I am considering to have a complex dental treatment, including ortho, implants for missing teeth and restaurative work. I have functional problems and am not happy with the aesthetics of my smile. I need a multidisciplinary team. I would like to have the treatment as minimally invasive as possible. Should I try to find a general dentist who manages the case? Or a prosthodontist? How do...
